We call it precession planning. Our approach reflects the desire of the baby boomer generation to gain flexibility in their life but not at the expense of losing the stimulation and connectedness that comes from owning a business.

 

We invest a lot of time working with business owners to help them understand the three hats they typically wear (employee, shareholder and director). We also discuss how they can retain influence and involvement in their business without the day to day operational grind.

 

While a trade sale, MBO or family transfer of the business may be the eventual route taken our precession planning approach ensures that business owners maximise the miles left in their tank.
